Two men die in head-on collision on A6 in Northamptonshire

Two men have been killed in a head-on collision in Northamptonshire, bringing the number of fatalities in the county over the Christmas period to five.

Police said both men were pronounced dead when their Vauxhall collided with a Fiat on the A6 at Burton Latimer on Sunday morning.

Two females in the Fiat sustained injuries, police said.

Three other people have died in separate accidents on the county's roads since Boxing Day.

A 61-year-old man died on Friday when his car hit a tree at Patishall on the A5.

A woman, 43, was killed on Thursday when her car came off the A14 near Kettering, and a 33-year-old male passenger died on Boxing Day when the car he was in crashed into a tree at Church Brampton.
