Cambridgeshire and Peterborough to sign £30m broadband deal

BT has been given the task of rolling out superfast broadband across Peterborough and Cambridgeshire.

Contracts worth nearly £30m will be signed with the telecoms company by the city and county councils.

It means that more than 90% of homes and businesses should have speeds of at least 24Mbps, with basic broadband available to all premises by 2015.

The infrastructure roll-out schedule will be drawn up and agreed with BT after the contract is signed in March.
