'Armed' Leighton Buzzard man prompts police cordon

Three streets have been cordoned off by police in Leighton Buzzard amid concerns for the safety of a man who may be armed.

Bridge Street, West Street and Friday Street have been sealed off.

Officers were contacted about the man, who is in a flat, at about 1700 GMT.

A Bedfordshire Police spokesman said there was "a possibility" that the man, thought to be in his 40s, was "armed with a gun", adding that there were concerns for his safety.
