Firefighters tackle overnight house fires in Suffolk

Firefighters at the scene Crews used water from a swimming pool to tackle the fire at Bawdsey

Firefighters have dealt with a series of overnight house fires in Suffolk.

They were called to blazes in thatched cottages at Nedging Tye, near Hadleigh, and All Saints South Elmham, near Bungay on Friday evening.

Crews were called shortly before 06:30 GMT on Saturday to the Manor House Estate at Bawdsey, near Felixstowe where a house was on fire.

The fire affected the ground and first floors of the house, causing three-quarters of the roof to collapse.

Six fire engines attended and crews used water from a swimming pool to tackle the blaze.
