Five people have been arrested after a taxi driver was robbed at gunpoint when he dropped off three passengers.

Surrey Police said four men, aged between 21 and 42, and a 32-year-old woman, all from Epsom, were being questioned at Reigate police station.

Two replica guns and a quantity of stolen property were found after two addresses were searched.

The taxi driver was forced to hand over his wallet and mobile phone by a man armed with a gun on Friday night.

He had dropped the passengers, two men and a woman, in Stanton Close, Epsom after picking them up from Worcester Park, south London.

A woman had rung his firm about 23:20 GMT to call for a cab.

The second male passenger was also seen to have a gun when he got out of the taxi. The three passengers got away on foot.
