Four men have been arrested after an attack in Margate which left a 25-year-old man from Surrey in hospital with a fractured skull.

Kent Police said a fight broke out in the seaside town on Friday night after the man spoke to a group of local men.

The fight started near the Mechanical Elephant Pub, moved to the clock tower and ended up near Primark, police said.

The man's friend who was with him, also from Surrey, was punched in the head. The four men arrested have been bailed.

Officers said the man who suffered a fractured skull had his wallet and phone stolen.
