Missing Pamela Jackson: Partner charged with murder

The partner of a County Durham woman who went missing more than one week ago has been charged with murder.

Pamela Jackson was last seen at her home in The Crescent, Chester-le-Street, on 2 March.

The 55-year-old mother of three, who is also known as "Cris" or "Crissie", was reported missing on Thursday after one of her sons became concerned.

Adrian Muir, 50, of Calder Terrace, Halifax, appeared before magistrates in Consett and was remanded in custody.

No formal plea was entered. He will next appear at Newcastle Crown Court on Wednesday.
