Child seriously injured in A3072 road crash

A child has suffered life-threatening injuries in a road accident on the Devon and Cornwall border.

A blue Honda crashed on the A3072 halfway between Bude in Cornwall and Holsworthy in Devon at about 13:15 GMT on Saturday.

The child was airlifted to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth, before being moved to Frenchay Hospital in Bristol, Devon and Cornwall Police said.

A woman and another child were also in the car. Their condition is not known.

No other vehicle was involved.

The road was closed for several hours while an investigation was carried out by police.
