Man in court over home secretary threats

A man charged following alleged threats against Home Secretary Theresa May has appeared in court.

Mark Walker, 39, appeared at Oxford Magistrates Court for offences under the Communications Act 2003 and Criminal Act 1977.

Thames Valley Police said the charges related to a bomb hoax at an address in Oxfordshire in 2012, as well as a letter and electronic communications.

He is due to enter a plea at Oxford Crown Court on 2 April.

Mr Walker, formerly of the Kent area, remains in custody.
