The Bishop of Hereford has said farmers are experiencing the most difficult conditions in 12 years.

Cold weather over the last year has affected both arable and livestock farmers across the country.

Recent snow and cold temperatures have also killed hundreds of sheep across Herefordshire and Shropshire.

The Right Reverend Anthony Priddis, whose diocese covers the counties, urged people to buy locally sourced food.

He also asked people within communities to offer as much support as they could to make sure farmers in the area did not feel isolated.
