Arrest in MoD weapons parts theft probe
A man was arrested on suspicion of theft after firearms parts were found at a house in Oxfordshire.
He was held on Friday by police probing the alleged theft of Ministry of Defence property by a former employee.
Police found parts from three rifles, a pump action shotgun, a deactivated pistol, flare devices and ammunition components at the house in Shrivenham.
The property is near the MoD's Defence Academy, which is close to the border with Wiltshire.
The man, 39, has been bailed until 25 June.
Thames Valley Police said a ballistics expert had confirmed there was no active ammunition nor any illegal firearms at the property.
Det Sgt Darren Cartwright said: "The items discovered did not pose a threat to residents."
