A woman from Staffordshire has died in a crash on the A5 in Shropshire.

It is thought an Astra which had stopped on the westbound carriageway near Shrewsbury was hit by a lorry.

The 20-year-old woman in the Astra died en route to hospital, police said. A 19-year-old man in the Astra was treated for head injuries.

Sgt Steve Robinson said: "It is important we speak to anyone who saw the collision." The lorry driver was not hurt in the collision on Sunday.
