Preston security van robbery: Two arrested in Birmingham
Two men suspected of robbing a security van in Preston have been arrested after two police cars were rammed in Birmingham.
A BMW 318i and Audi A3 TFSI Sport, one of which had jumped a red light, had been tracked into the city from the M6 and M5 on Tuesday.
The BMW rammed two police cars before crashing into the central reservation on Hagley Road West.
Two men tried to run off but were arrested by officers.
The BMW and Audi are believed to have been involved in a cash-in-transit robbery in Preston on 12 June, when a large amount of cash was stolen.
A 30-year-old man from Wythenshawe, Manchester was arrested on suspicion of robbery, stealing a car, failing to stop and dangerous driving.
A 31-year-old man, of no fixed address, was arrested on suspicion of robbery and car theft.
