Collectables gift chain goes into administration

Up to 200 jobs are at risk after gift store chain went into administration.

Collectables trades from 11 leasehold stores across the North East, Yorkshire and Cumbria, and as a furniture retailer from three units in Stockton.

Administrator KPMG said that the 27-year-old business had been hit by the challenging economic environment which had impacted on its trading.

All stores have closed and while there had been no immediate redundancies, the situation was "uncertain".

A KPMG spokesman said: "We are now assessing the company's financial position and the options available, whilst marketing the business and assets for sale."
