Chester City Walls stabbing suspect arrested

Police investigating a possible hate crime after a man was stabbed in Chester have made an arrest.

The man, 35, remains in hospital with chest injuries after he was attacked in City Walls on Monday night.

A 22-year-old man was held on suspicion of attempted murder after officers attended an Ellesmere Port address in the early hours, Cheshire Police said.

The area was "a well-known place the gay community frequent" so hate crime was a "possible motive", it said.
