Police searching for a missing man from North Yorkshire have found a body near cliffs at Saltburn in Cleveland.

The body was discovered at about 15:40 GMT on Friday, near cliffs in an area of the beach known as Saltburn Scar.

James Kipling, 35, has not been seen since Thursday when he left his home in Allotment Gardens, in Harrogate.

"We are not yet in a position to release the identity of the deceased," a spokesman for North Yorkshire Police said.

Although it is not known where Mr Kipling is, it is known he has links to the Guisborough and Redcar areas of Cleveland, according to the police.
