London and Swindon hotels to close with 155 job losses

Three hotels at Gatwick, Luton and Swindon are to close with the loss of 155 jobs, it has been announced.

The closures came as the Menzies Hotel group, based in Derbyshire, was sold to Topland Group securing the future of 12 other sites.

Administrator KPMG said the leaseholds at the three hotels were "unattractive to potential buyers" and the hotels would close by Monday.

The firm said it wanted to save the "majority of jobs across the business".

Forty-nine of the lost jobs are be in Swindon with the rest at other hotels.

In Swindon, Christmas party bookings were also cancelled by the firm.
