3 June 2014 Last updated at 17:32 BST

The Queen's Baton Relay has arrived in Bristol on its tour of the home nations ahead of Glasgow 2014.

Several baton bearers were chosen in recognition of their contribution to sport and the community.

During the day they took part in a variety of events and activities aimed at introducing people to new sports.

The Queen's Baton travelled up from Plymouth earlier on Tuesday where more than 100 schoolchildren turned out to greet it.

Laura Jones reports.
