Copper mine body: Man denies David Alderson murder

A man has denied murdering a cyclist whose body was found in a disused copper mine.

The body of David Alderson, 72, from Falmouth, was found on 18 January at Wheal Maid, near Carharrack, Cornwall.

Kevin Cooper, 33, from Poldory View, Carharrack, was remanded in custody after denying murder during an appearance at Truro Crown Court.

Mr Alderson was found wearing cycling clothing although police have been unable to find a bicycle.

Mr Cooper is due to go on trial on 11 November.
