Seven arrested by police in drug trafficking raids

Seven people have been arrested following police raids involving 250 officers across south-east England.

Police believe young children from south-east London are being used by gangs to transport Class A drugs to Hampshire and Kent.

Searches were carried out in Lewisham, Haringey, Croydon, Canterbury, Folkestone, Kent and Portsmouth.

The Met Police said the raids, carried out at 05:00 BST, were a "clear message" to criminals.

A large quantity of of crack cocaine and £1,500 in cash was also seized from an address in Canterbury.

The seven have been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to supply class A drugs, inciting supply of class A drugs, child trafficking and money laundering.
