Newport to Stafford cycleway: Work begins on final link

Work on the final section of cycleway between towns in Shropshire and Staffordshire will begin on Monday.

Millennium Way, part of the National Cycle Network 55, links Newport and Stafford. The final 3km (1.8 mile) section near Gnosall will be completed at a cost of £300,000.

Staffordshire County Council said it has already invested £1.1m in the route.

The work is expected to last for 20 weeks, the council said.
