Walsall Syria terror suspect Alex Nash admits passport offence

A man arrested at Heathrow Airport on suspicion of Syria-related terrorism offences has admitted using his brother's passport to board a flight to Turkey.

Alex Nash, from Walsall, appeared before Warwick Crown Court earlier.

The 20-year-old denied a second count of theft, which prosecutors agreed would be left to lie on file.

Nash, from Bentley Lane, was remanded in custody and will next appear in court on 20 February.

Both he and his 19-year-old wife were arrested as they disembarked from a flight from Istanbul on 25 November.

West Midlands Police said the couple remain on conditional bail as part of a separate investigation into Syria-related offences.
