A search for a cyclist missing on the Cheviot Hills in Northumberland has been called off for a second night.

David Bibby, thought to be from Penrith, left the Black Bull Hotel in Wooler on Thursday during gale-force winds saying he would be back later.

He failed to return and a search involving the RAF helicopter and the Northumberland National Park Mountain Rescue Team was launched.

It has now been called off for a second night as light fades.

Police said Mr Bibby is aged between 40 and 50, about 5ft 10ins (1.78m) tall and slim.
