Quentin Woolmer death: IPCC investigated police forces

Two police forces are being investigated over their search for a missing man who was later found dead.

Quentin Woolmer, 52, from the Dinnington area of Newcastle upon Tyne, was reported missing on 2 December.

He was found dead in Worcester the following day.

The Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) said it is investigating the way Northumbria Police and West Mercia Police handled the search.

IPCC Commissioner, Carl Gumsely, said: "I would like to extend my sincere sympathies to the family of Mr Woolmer and assure them that the actions taken by Northumbria and West Mercia Police forces will be examined thoroughly during the course of our investigation."
