Charges over University of Warwick disorder

Three men have been charged following disorder at a university protest in Coventry over fees.

Police said they were called to Senate House at the University of Warwick on 3 December in relation to a reported assault while a protest was being held.

Daniel Dawson, 24, of Earlsdon, Alistair Robinson, 25, of Birmingham, and Luke Dukinfield, 19, of Leamington, have been charged.

They have been bailed to appear before Coventry Magistrates' Court on 5 March.

Mr Dawson, of Shaftesbury Road, Earlsdon, faces charges of obstructing or resisting a constable in execution of duty and using threatening, insulting words or abusive behaviour to provoke unlawful violence.

Mr Robinson, of Pershore Road, Birmingham, is charged with assault by beating and using threatening, insulting words or abusive behaviour to provoke unlawful violence.

Mr Dukinfield, of Radford Road, Leamington, is charged with using threatening, insulting words or abusive behaviour to provoke unlawful violence.
