Jason Martin-Smith murder: Two men in court over 2001 killing

Two men have appeared in court charged with the murder of a man 14 years ago.

The body of Jason Martin-Smith, 28, of Camberley, Surrey, who was abducted in Hastings, East Sussex, in August 2001, has never been found.

Mark Searle, 36, of Chambers Road, St Leonards and Steve McNicol, 42, of Whitefriars Road, Hastings, appeared at Lewes Crown Court on Monday.

They were remanded in custody for a plea and case management hearing at the same court on 22 May.

Both men are charged with murder and conspiracy to kidnap.

Mr Searle is also charged with conspiracy to pervert the course of justice
