Three men deny University of Warwick disorder

Three men have denied charges relating to disorder at a university protest over fees.

Daniel Dawson, 24, of Earlsdon, Alistair Robinson, 25, of Birmingham, and Luke Dukinfield, 19, of Leamington, were arrested after demonstrations at the University of Warwick in December.

The men entered not guilty pleas to a range of charges at Coventry Magistrates' Court.

A trial was set for 7 July at the same court.

Mr Dawson, of Shaftesbury Road, Earlsdon, faces charges of obstructing or resisting a constable in execution of duty and using threatening, insulting words or abusive behaviour to provoke unlawful violence.

Mr Robinson, of Pershore Road, Birmingham, is charged with assault by beating and using threatening, insulting words or abusive behaviour to provoke unlawful violence.

Mr Dukinfield, of Radford Road, Leamington, is charged with using threatening, insulting words or abusive behaviour to provoke unlawful violence.

A pre-trial hearing is to be held at the court on 9 June.
