Two more people have been arrested over an attack that left a Watford football fan critically ill after a match in Wolverhampton, police said.

Nic Cruwys, 44, suffered head injuries in the attack on 7 March.

A 17-year-old boy was arrested on Thursday in Gailey, Staffordshire and an 18-year-old man was arrested on Friday in Ashmore Park, Wolverhampton.

Both were questioned on suspicion of wounding and released on bail. Seven people have been detained in total.

Three other 18-year-old men and two teenagers, aged 14 and 13, have been released on conditional bail.

They must report to a police station daily and not enter Wolverhampton city centre on match days, police said.

A spokesman said all seven would be questioned again in April.

Det Insp Toni Naylor said: "We have now made a number of arrests but our investigation is still very much ongoing.

"We remain keen to hear from anyone with information about the assault − who we have not yet spoken to − and I would urge them to contact us as soon as possible."
