Crowborough fatal crash driver 'had no licence'

A 20-year-old man who was driving a car that crashed into a church wall, killing his passenger and himself, did not have a licence, police said.

Kyle Careford and Michael Owen, 21, from Tunbridge Wells, died in the crash in Rotherfield Road, Crowborough, at about 00:40 BST on Sunday.

They had been staying in Crowborough at the time of the incident.

Sussex Police confirmed that Mr Careford did not have a licence and they were investigating the crash.

Detectives want to speak to a taxi driver who may have seen the pair's Renault Clio before it hit the wall and overturned.
