Two held in Coventry over 'Syria terror offences'

Two teenagers from Coventry have been arrested on suspicion of Syria-related terrorism offences, police have said.

The pair, both aged 17, were detained by officers from the West Midlands Counter Terrorism Unit at their home addresses at about 06:00.

They are in custody in the West Midlands Police area, the force said.

In a separate incident, a 39-year-old man was arrested in Coventry on suspicion of fund raising for the purpose of terrorism.

He was detained by officers from Scotland Yard's Counter Terrorism Unit earlier on Tuesday and is being held in custody at a West Midlands police station, the force said.
