Ex-Nuneaton children's home boss jailed for abuse

A former children's home manager has been jailed for nine years after being convicted of sexual and physical abuse against boys in the 1970s.

Robert James Brown, 69, who was found guilty of 17 counts, managed the now-closed Manor Court Children's Home in Nuneaton, Warwickshire.

He was ordered to sign the sex offenders register indefinitely.

Brown, of Eastern Avenue, Caister-on-Sea, Norfolk, was cleared of five counts.

He was found guilty at Warwick Crown Court of 14 counts of indecent assault on a male and three counts of cruelty to a person under 16.
