Murder suspect remanded by court

A Hertfordshire man charged with the murder of a north London man has appeared in court.

The body of Zafar Khaliq, 43, reported missing to police on 15 July, was found in roadworks on the A421 Bedford bypass at Brogborough on Thursday.

Wayne Grimes, 36, from Shirley Road in Abbots Langley, charged with murder, has been remanded in custody to appear at St Albans Crown Court on Tuesday.

He is also charged with obstructing a coroner in his course of duty.

Kieran O'Brien, 29, from King's Cross Road, Hemel Hempstead, charged with obstructing a coroner and perverting the course of justice appeared with Mr Grimes at Hatfield Remand Court on Saturday.

Mr O'Brien was also remanded in custody to appear at St Albans Crown Court on Tuesday 27 July.

A 29-year-old man from Hemel Hempstead and a 25-year-old woman from Borehamwood were also arrested and were released on police bail.
