A fifth man has been arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with the disappearance of a man in Hertfordshire.

Murray Thompson, 34, of St Albans, was last seen on 20 April. His work van was seen later in Watford and found abandoned in May.

Police said a 30-year-old man from Rickmansworth was arrested on Tuesday and has been released on bail.

Four other men, aged 21, 23, 45, 56, have been bailed on the same charge.

Forensic examinations are taking place at a flat in St Albans Road, Watford, after officers discovered Mr Thompson had been there.

In August, his parents offered a reward of up to £5,000 from their savings for information about what has happened to him.

Geraldine Woodstock and Tony Thompson said having no news of him was a "living hell".
