Man denies roadworks murder in Bedfordshire

A Hertfordshire man accused of murder after a body was found in roadworks in Bedfordshire, has appeared in court.

Wayne Grimes, 36, of Shirley Road, Abbots Langley, appeared at St Albans Crown Court and denied murdering Zafar Khaliq, 43, on the 10 July 2010.

Kieran O'Brien, 29, of Peasecroft Road, Hemel Hempstead, admitted perverting the course of justice and obstructing the Hertfordshire coroner.

Mr Grimes denied obstructing a coroner. His trial will start in January.

Mr O'Brien was bailed and will be sentenced at the end of the trial.

Mr Khaliq lived in north London and was reported missing in mid-July. He was last seen on 10 July.

His body was recovered from the bypass on the A41, near to Manor Farm in Brogborough, nearly on 22 July.
