Luton Airport has reopened but passengers were warned to face delays after heavy snow hit Bedfordshire.

Severe weather warnings were issued on Saturday for parts of the county, along with Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire as heavy snow hit the counties.

Heavy snow also fell in Luton and Milton Keynes.

The airport said on Sunday it was open and operational. However severe weather conditions are still affecting many arriving and departing flights.

Chiltern and Virgin train services have been disrupted by the severe weather and many bus and taxi services are not operating in the three counties.

Drivers were also warned not to travel unless their journey was essential.
