St Edmundsbury council leader is appointed MBE

The leader of St Edmundsbury Council has been appointed MBE in the New Year honours list.

John Griffiths, of Bury St Edmunds, has been honoured for his services to local government in Suffolk.

Ann Tate, of Rattlesden, Suffolk, former vice-chancellor of Northampton University, was appointed CBE for services to higher education.

Dr Michael Field, of Lowestoft, chairman of Great Yarmouth College Corporation, was appointed OBE.

He was honoured for services to the voluntary sector.
