Woman dies in two-car collision in Hertfordshire

A woman has died in a collision in a Hertfordshire village, prompting an appeal for witnesses by police.

The 60-year-old, from Ruislip, west London, was a front seat passenger in a Rover 75 which crashed with an Alfa Romeo in Maple Cross on Sunday morning.

Police said the cars were travelling in opposite directions on Denham Way and the cause of the crash, near the Troy Sailing Club, is unknown.

The drivers of both cars were taken to Watford General Hospital for treatment.

They were a 33-year-old Maple Cross woman, who was driving the Rover, and a woman, aged 46, from Chorleywood.

Anyone with information on the crash, which happened at 0945 GMT, is asked to contact Hertfordshire Police.
