Luton Crown Court separates drug case couple

A 74-year-old man and his wife charged over the discovery of 29kg of cocaine have been ordered not to contact each other during their release on bail.

George and Anne Evans, 53, both of High Street, Beeston, Bedfordshire, deny acquiring £324,000 as criminal property and converting criminal property.

Mr Evans and Brian Smith, 50, from Henry Bird Way, Northampton, deny conspiracy to supply from 2009 to 2010.

All three were bailed for a trial at Luton Crown Court in October.

The couple were told they must live at separate addresses and not contact each other.
