Community building opens in Luton's Marsh Farm
A £9m community building, which is the culmination of a 10-year estate regeneration plan, has opened in Luton.
The community enterprise and resource centre in Marsh Farm will house services from the borough council, primary care trust and police.
Futures House also houses a children's play park, meeting rooms and a community hall.
The £48m regeneration of Marsh Farm began in 2001 to improve the lives of the residents on the estate.
During the 10 years, projects and initiatives have included improved lighting, CCTV, health education and neighbourhood policing.
The regeneration programme was managed by a development trust, but the new self-supporting Marsh Farm Futures, based in Futures House, has taken over from the trust and says it aims to continue to meet the needs of local people.
