Bedford woman remanded in custody over partner's murder

The 39-year-old partner of a man found dead in a flat in Bedford has appeared in court charged with his murder.

The body of Piotr Plonka, 34, was discovered by Bedfordshire Police on Good Friday.

Marie Gavin was not asked to enter a plea when she appeared at Luton Crown Court and no application for bail was made. She was remanded in custody.

Mr Plonka, a Polish national, was found with two stab wounds at their flat in Browney Path.
