Two men sought after Luton arson attack

Two men who tried to set fire to a house in Luton while the occupants were sleeping inside are being sought by Bedfordshire Police.

The arson attack happened at a property in Farley Hill in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

The men poured a flammable substance through the letter box and then lit it before making off in a taxi.

The people living in the house were able to get out and nobody was injured, said police.

Det Con Ann Ward said: "Fortunately all the occupants were able to get out of the house and nobody was injured, although there was considerable damage to the property.

"We are very keen to hear from anyone who saw anybody acting suspiciously in the area before the fire, or who may have come across persons smelling of petrol or other accelerants later that morning."

Anyone with information is asked to contact Bedfordshire Police.
