Police have released images of a man they want to trace in connection with an armed robbery at a jewellers in Hertfordshire.

A man threatened staff with a handgun during the incident at Baker Brothers on Leys Avenue in Letchworth on the afternoon of 27 May.

Police said the suspect was white, of medium build and height, clean shaven and aged about 30 to 40.

He took jewellery, including some diamond rings, during the robbery.

The suspect was wearing a reddish-brown wig, dark clothing and had a sports bag, which he filled with the stolen goods.

Det Sgt Pete Clavey said earlier: "The robbery happened at a busy time in the town centre, when many people would have been out and about for lunch, and so may have seen something.

"We believe the offender sat outside the shop for a period of time before going in to commit the robbery."

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact police.
