Ex-scout leader charged with sex offences

A former scout leader from Bedfordshire has been charged with rape and other sex offences against children.

Robert James Major, 62, from Leighton Buzzard, is due to appear before Aylesbury Magistrates' Court.

He was a scout leader in the Leighton Buzzard area from the 1960s to the 1980s.

The charges include inciting a child to commit gross indecency, indecent assault and possessing indecent images of children.

Mr Major is alleged to have committed the offences against two victims at two addresses in the Leighton Buzzard area between 1977 and 1982 and an address in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, between 1997 and 2001.
