Passenger dies in Tube train fall in Buckinghamshire

A passenger has died after falling between two carriages of a tube train travelling through Buckinghamshire.

The train was travelling north from Chorleywood, Hertfordshire, towards Chalfont and Latimer early on Saturday.

A British Transport Police (BTP) said: "The man died after falling between carriages of a Metropolitan line train at Chalfont and Latimer tube station.

"The incident, which was reported to police at 0134 BST, is being treated as non-suspicious."

The line was handed back to London Underground at 0320 BST.

Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service and paramedics from South Central Ambulance Service helped to retrieve the body from under the train.

A spokesman for the ambulance service said: "We sent two double manned ambulances and one rapid response vehicle to the scene."

The driver of the tube train, who has 12 years experience on the underground, was said by colleagues to be "fine" after the incident and opted to continue his shift.

A file is to be prepared for the coroner.
