CCTV images of a man suspected of sexually assaulting a woman in a Buckinghamshire town have been released by police.

The woman, 20, was attacked at 0350 BST on Sunday as she walked through a church yard near All Saints Church, High Wycombe.

She fought the man off and ran to a nearby taxi rank to get help.

Det Con Tim Robins said: "We would like to speak to the man in the images as we believe he could help us."

He said the images were "quite clear so we hope someone will be able to identify him".

Deputy Area Commander, Ch Insp Colin Seaton, said: "Fortunately the woman was able to get help but has been left distressed and we need to find whoever is responsible.

"I don't want to create unnecessary alarm within the community but for the people to be aware that this has happened and to take precautions to look after themselves."

Police said they would also like to speak to a woman who might have been approached by the offender in the town centre about 15 minutes before the sexual assault in the church yard.
