Man remanded over pensioner's death in Luton

A 25-year-old man has been remanded in custody charged with murdering a pensioner in Bedfordshire.

Police called to a bungalow in Vespers Close, Luton, on Saturday found Frederick Hodsdon, 69, who had suffered head injuries.

He was taken to the Luton and Dunstable Hospital but died later that night.

David Clairmonte, of Thornview Road, Houghton Regis, was remanded by magistrates on Wednesday to appear at Luton Crown Court next month.
