Motorcycle deaths fall for third year
The number of motorcyclists killed or seriously injured in Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire has fallen for a third year running.
Department for Transport figures show the fall is about 20% since 2008.
In that year, 227 people were killed or seriously injured in accidents involving motorbikes but by 2010 the figure had dropped to 203.
Police said the fall was encouraging but the proportion of serious accidents involving bikes still remained high.
Last year in Hertfordshire alone there were 27 deaths on the county's roads and seven were motorcyclists.
