Norfolk law firm shut after misconduct allegations
A Norfolk law firm has been closed by industry regulators after misconduct allegations against one of its solicitors.
The Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) has intervened to close Purdys Solicitors of Reepham following three allegations against Andrew Gibb.
It is alleged Mr Gibb broke three separate professional rules.
Tees Solicitors of Bishop's Stortford, Hertfordshire has been appointed to deal with any urgent client matters.
The SRA has the power to intervene to protects clients' interests and money.
When it does so, it takes possession of practice documents, including client papers, and any money held by the practice, which it holds for those entitled to it.
A prosecution before the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal is likely to follow.
Purdys Solicitors will remain closed while investigations continue.
