Luton man Wayne Ellis admits murdering Barry Lees

A man has pleaded guilty to the murder of a 43-year-old found dead in his home in Bedfordshire.

The body of Barry Lees, 43, was found at his New Bedford Road home, Luton, on 10 May and Wayne Ellis, from Hampton Road, was charged with his murder.

On Monday Ellis, 33, appeared at Luton Crown Court and pleaded guilty when the murder charge was put to him for the first time.

He was remanded in custody until 28 October.

Judge Michael Baker QC told Ellis he would be sentenced to life imprisonment, but the tariff would be announced later.
