Norman King pub fire in Dunstable: Man on arson charge

A 42-year-old man from Dunstable has been charged with arson with intent to endanger life after a fire at a historic pub in Bedfordshire.

The Grade II listed Norman King pub, in Church Street, Dunstable, was destroyed in the early hours of 10 August.

The thatched building was being refurbished and was empty at the time.

The man was arrested on Friday morning and is held in custody. He is due to appear before Bedford Magistrates' Court on Saturday, police said.
